My name is Nikita Egorov. I am a musician. I play the keyboard, the balalaika, sing folk songs, and write arrangements. For many years I've been doing all this, making money mainly from street music. In the background, simply because I was interested, I studied programming and game modding, but did not achieve any significant success in this area. It was always just a hobby.
But Covid started, there was a lockdown in April 2020, and it became impossible to make money from street music. Staying at home, I downloaded the Godot engine and began to study it, creating my first game. This was a prototype of Escape by Explosion, and I even brought it to a more or less playable state. But by the summer, from the height of the experience gained, I realized that the entire project had to be redone from scratch. Besides, the lockdown was over, music has again become my main source of income.
So I tried to take up the engine, then gave it up again and focused on the music. Until in 2023 I realized: I already know how to make games, so why not bring a couple of projects to completion? Why not put "Teddy the Eggplant" on several platforms, such as itch.io or Yandex.Games? After all, this does not require any additional investments; but the game will be published, people will be able to play it, they may even be interested. And if enough people are interested, then it’s worth continuing to make games.
This is a huge event for me. After so many months of perfecting it, I can finally say: the game is ready.
For now you can play Eggplant on VK (with advertising) and on itch. All links are below. As moderation progresses, the game will become available on other platforms.
